Fruits of the Landė variety ripen earlier than many other varieties, which is due to the peculiarities of starch hydrolysis. In Lithuania, ripening occurs 60–65 days after the start of mass flowering. The plant is characterized by tolerance to low temperatures, unfavorable environmental conditions, as well as to diseases and pests.
Berries contain high concentrations of ascorbic acid, soluble solids, and polyphenols. Unique sulfurous acid esters have been identified in the composition of the fruits. Due to its biochemical composition, the variety is considered a promising raw material for functional nutrition and the confectionery industry.
