Variety description
10 August 2026
The variety was created as a specialized source of astaxanthin for feed production, in particular for aquaculture needs. Breeding work was aimed at obtaining stable plant forms with an increased pigment content.
A distinctive morphological feature of the variety is an increased number of petals. While wild forms of Adonis aestivalis usually have 5 to 8 petals, the breeding forms of Loders Red could have 8 or more petals.
