Variety description

The variety was obtained by the method of individual-family selection of plants of hybrid origin through open pollination of a local population from the Poltava region with a Canadian accession Kirk. The breeding process utilized negative selection, discarding the worst biotypes before flowering, and selection of the best plants.

Seed yield is 6–8 c/ha, green mass yield is 300–350 c/ha, and dry matter yield is 100–110 c/ha. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought tolerance, rated at 9 points. Infestation with leaf rust is 10–15%.

The crop is recommended for use in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones. The variety is suitable for establishing high-productivity pasture and hay grass mixtures, stabilizing slopes and road verges, and for grassing orchard and vineyard inter-rows.
