The plant forms compact clumps of stiff, linear, flat leaves that twist longitudinally. The peduncles are sturdy and bear dense spherical umbels approximately 5 cm in diameter. The buds are nodding before opening, and the peduncles straighten after the flowers bloom.
The variety is late-flowering, with the flowering period covering late summer and early autumn. The plant is characterized by drought tolerance once established and winter hardiness in USDA zones 4–9. It prefers full sun or light partial shade and well-drained soils. Suitable for use in landscape design.
