The plant's inflorescences include greenish-pink flowers and long drooping bulbils resembling dreadlocks. Leaves are basal, gray-green, hollow and linear. Plant height varies from 30 to 80 cm.
The plant blooms in June–July. It is used in decorative gardening for landscaping flower beds, borders and containers, as well as in cut form for floristry. Prefers sunny locations with well-drained soil.
The variety can propagate by self-seeding using aerial bulbils, which under certain conditions leads to active spread of the plant.
