Variety description

The plant is a cold-hardy perennial grass with a height of 90 to 180 cm. The leaf blades are 4.5–5.5 mm wide. The inflorescence is dense, cylindrical, spike-like, with a length of 4 to 10 cm; upon ripening, the seeds turn black.
The variety is intended for the establishment of pastures, hayfields, shoreline stabilization, and erosion control. It is capable of growing on acidic, alkaline, and saline soils, is resistant to excessive moisture, and tolerates flooding for up to 90 days. The plant is characterized by high palatability and digestibility.
The flowering period lasts from May to August. A feature of the variety is the easy shattering of seeds upon ripening, which complicates the harvesting process.
