The La Paz variety was obtained as a result of an induced mutation of the Rio variety. As a cut flower crop, the plant demonstrates stability of traits during asexual reproduction over several generations.
Morphologically, the variety is distinguished by the yellow color of the flowers, yellow stamen filaments, and brown anthers. The flower stalk is characterized by the presence of a short pedicel.
