The Stalona variety was obtained through controlled pollination of breeding lines 88T1119-01 and 87G1069-02. The plant is characterized by a medium stem height in comparison with other varieties selected for testing.

The flowers of the variety have a complex coloring: the outer petals are predominantly red with an orange-white base; the inner lateral petals are colored yellow and red with a green-white base. The inner central petal has a red apex, yellow spots in the center, and faint stripes.
