A compact herbaceous perennial with rosettes of narrow light-green or glaucous-green leaves. The plant forms dense clumps with a diameter of about 60 cm; erect branching stems also reach a height of 60 cm and are red in color.

The flowers are tubular, with the pubescence characteristic of the genus, colored bright red on the outside and emerald green on the inside. Flowering is abundant, occurring in the spring-summer period. The variety is relatively short-lived, so it is preferred for container cultivation, although it can be used in borders and as cut flower material.

The plant is drought-tolerant once established. It may be susceptible to rust, ink spot, as well as slugs and snails. Commercial propagation is carried out primarily by in vitro tissue culture.
