The Portos variety belongs to the large low-growing snapdragon type. The plant is an annual with an upright bushy habit and dark green lanceolate leaves.

The bilabiate flowers are collected in dense raceme inflorescences up to 20 cm long. Flowering lasts from the beginning of summer until frost. The variety is photophilous, sensitive to low temperatures, and requires fertile, permeable soil.

The plant is used for creating borders, growing in pots and balcony containers, and is also suitable for cutting for bouquets.
