The VB1 variety, also known as Super Choco, is a selective form of Aristotelia chilensis. The plant is characterized as high-yielding: with proper care at the age of 4–5 years, one bush is capable of producing 7–8 kg of berries.
The fruits of the variety are distinguished by their large size, firm structure, sweet taste, and specific chocolate aroma. This variety is included in the registers of maqui berry selective forms alongside varieties such as Sobresale, AZ50, and Pretoria.
