The «SC Blossom» line is an in vitro micropropagated form of giant reed. In scientific research, the ecotype is compared with other lines to evaluate the plant's potential for use as a raw material for bioenergy production and for the remediation of soils contaminated with heavy metals.
The plant possesses a specific reaction to stress factors, including sensitivity to selenium accumulation and a metabolic response to salinity and metal exposure. This line is characterized by the traits of the species Arundo donax: a high growth rate of up to 7 cm per day, the formation of robust knotty rhizomes, and the ability to reach heights from 2 to 6 meters.
