The variety has a pedigree combining Sol II × Sörbo. It is known for its field resistance to the cereal cyst nematode Heterodera avenae, where significantly fewer nematode cysts developed on the roots of the plants compared to other varieties.
The plant was used in physiological and breeding experiments, including the study of drought tolerance and grain germination mechanisms. The variety is stored in gene banks, for example, at the Nordic Baltic Genebanks under the code NGB 2711.
