The variety is a variegated form of Beaucarnea recurvata. The leaves of the plant are narrow, colored green with a creamy-yellow margin, sometimes with a reddish tint. At the base of the stem, there is a pronounced swelling (caudex) designed for moisture storage.
The plant is a heat-loving succulent. The growth rate and habit depend on the level of illumination: in insufficient light, the variety becomes loose and loses its decorative appeal, whereas in full sun, it acquires a more compact form. Due to the lower chlorophyll content in the leaves, the variety may grow slower than the original species.
The variety is used as an ornamental pot crop for interiors, as well as for cultivation in open field in regions with USDA zone 10-11 climates. During care, it is necessary to avoid soil waterlogging, which is critical for the health of the Beaucarnea.
