The variety forms a low-growing plant approximately 25–30 cm in height. The leaves possess a puckered texture and a distinct spiral shape, characteristic of Begonia rex group hybrids.
The plant is perennial, although it is cultivated as an annual in regions with cold winters. It is used as a houseplant, as well as for container gardening and decorating shaded garden areas.
