The variety belongs to the double-low (00) oilseed rape varieties intended for oil and feed meal production. At the time of its introduction in the late 1980s, the variety was characterized by increased seed and oil yield compared to the standards existing at that time.
A transgenic version of the variety existed under the name Liberator C/6AC, which possessed resistance to glufosinate-ammonium-based herbicides and was used in scientific research in the early 2000s.
