The Merano rapeseed variety is a late-maturing (F1) winter hybrid. Plants reach a height of 165–175 cm and possess high resistance to lodging and seed shattering. The variety demonstrates high drought tolerance, but is characterized by medium winter hardiness.

The hybrid seeds contain 40.3–40.8% oil. The oil obtained from them is distinguished by a low level of saturated fatty acids, the absence of erucic acid, and a high content of unsaturated fatty acids, reaching 90.6%.
