The European winter variety «Viking» belongs to the «00» type (zero erucic acid, low glucosinolate) and is a population variety. In scientific research, it was examined in the context of studying the nectar productivity characteristics of rapeseed.
The Russian variety «Викинг-ВНИИМК» is a spring early-maturing rapeseed of the «00» type. It is distinguished by an improved fatty acid composition of the oil with a linolenic acid content of about 4% and a potential yield of up to 3 t/ha, intended for seed use in the food and technical industries.
