The variety is a population type and is distinguished by good ability to recover after the winter period. It is suitable for cultivation on soils with a pH above 6, belonging to soil quality classes I to IVa. The plant tolerates both optimal and delayed sowing dates well.
During cultivation, it is recommended to maintain a sowing density in the range of 60–80 plants per square meter, which corresponds to a seeding rate of 3–5 kg per hectare. The oilseed harvest is used for the production of vegetable oil, feed meal, and biodiesel, and the plant itself is a honey plant.
This variety should be distinguished from the hybrid form KWS Bono, as they are different breeding objects. Information about the Bono variety from HR Smolice emphasizes its stable productivity in relation to standards for population varieties.
