The rapeseed variety Collo was developed by breeder Erhard Eger. During trials by the German variety testing institution conducted between 1987 and 1989, the variety demonstrated a yield taken as 99 units within the framework of VCU tests, with a seed oil content of about 42.2%.
In scientific publications devoted to the analysis of the genetic diversity of oilseed crops, the variety Collo is mentioned as an object of German breeding research. Additional data on its current breeding significance or detailed characteristics of disease resistance are absent.
