The Egra variety is one of the early Canadian rapeseed varieties selected during the transition to the cultivation of plants with improved oil and meal quality, in particular with a low erucic acid and glucosinolate content.
In modern conditions, the variety is not a relevant commercial item, but is preserved in breeding sample collections. Recent studies consider its productivity only in the context of comparative trials with other varieties, while detailed morphological data are absent.
