The Erox variety belongs to the high-erucic rapeseed types (HEAR). Its primary purpose is industrial use: obtaining erucic acid for the production of plastics, nylon, lubricants, and surfactants.
In scientific research, the variety was used mainly as a model object or a reference sample in field trials, for instance, when studying nitrogen efficiency or oil composition transformation. In official EU bulletins for 2004, it is listed as deleted from the variety lists.
