The Genie variety is a hybrid of winter oilseed rape. The plant is characterized by excellent resistance to pathogens causing stem rot — Leptosphaeria maculans and Leptosphaeria biglobosa. Good overall crop health is also noted.
The seeds of this hybrid may have an increased glucosinolate content compared to other varieties. In scientific publications, the plant is often used as a model organism in the study of physiology, sulfur compound metabolism, and responses to pathogens depending on environmental conditions.
