The Stego variety is a forage form of rape. The plant is valued for its vigorous growth and high leaf-to-stem ratio, which provides high-quality vegetative mass for feeding cattle during the autumn-winter period.
This variety is well-adapted to grazing conditions and has a high regrowth capacity after grazing. Sowing dates directly affect dry matter accumulation, with early sowing promoting a higher biomass yield.
Unlike oilseed forms, the primary value of the variety is its green mass rather than seeds. Stego is not intended for commercial oil production and is used primarily as a source of energy and protein in animal husbandry.
