Longships is an F1 hybrid with a strong, powerful leaf apparatus and an upright habit. It belongs to late-maturing varieties with a growing season of 260–265 days.

The plant forms heavy dome-shaped heads with good leaf coverage. The harvesting period falls between mid-April and May. Preventive measures against ring spot are necessary during cultivation.
