Marzatico is a historical variety from the Campania region, belonging to the Neapolitan group. The plant is distinguished by high growth vigor and a large leaf rosette with a grayish hue. The leaves have a self-covering property, which protects the heads from the effects of sunlight and low temperatures.

The variety is late-maturing; depending on conditions, harvesting occurs from February to April. It forms dense, rounded heads of pure white or creamy white color, the weight of which reaches 2–3 kg with proper care. The variety shows high resistance to cold, but demonstrates low resistance to white rust.

Plant development occurs slowly during the winter period, accelerating with the increase in daylight hours in spring. For cultivation, preliminary sowing in greenhouses or indoors 4–6 weeks before transplanting to the open field is recommended.
