The name Ironhead, which is also encountered under the names Tête de fer and IJzerkop, was mentioned in 1934 agricultural catalogs. In that period, the variety was described as an early-maturing crop forming large, dense heads of dark green color.
This variety is not an actual commercial product of modern seed companies. Agronomic characteristics, such as disease resistance indicators or precise plant development parameters, have not been recorded for modern conditions.
