The heads have a blue-green hue and well-developed cover leaves that provide protection. The ripening period of the hybrid is 10 to 12 weeks after transplanting the seedlings.
The variety possesses high resistance to Fusarium wilt and black rot. In scientific studies, the Matsumo F1 hybrid was used as a tolerant control when studying resistance to infection by the pathogen Xanthomonas campestris.
