The variety belongs to the early white cabbage maturity group. The heads have a round shape, their average weight is about 1000 g, although under certain conditions they can reach 2–3 kg. The produce possesses flavor characteristics typical of early cabbage.
The plant is prone to rapid head cracking if harvesting is delayed. The variety is historical and often associated with a group of cultivar types close to the Gouden Akker variety.
Traditionally, the variety is used for summer fresh consumption. It is maintained in genetic resource collections as one of the variants of the Tidlig Ditmarsker line.
