The Cal Paicoras variety, known under the trade name Callie Painted Coral, is a perennial evergreen herbaceous plant. Its height reaches 10–20 cm with a bush width of 30–40 cm.

The plant is adapted for growing in sun or partial shade, requires regular watering and well-drained slightly acidic soils. The variety is characterized by resistance to high temperatures and attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
