The shrub is characterized by a compact habit with dense erect shoots, reaching a height of 25–30 cm, sometimes up to 35 cm. The plant's foliage is dark green. The growth rate is relatively slow.
The plant belongs to varieties with a bud-flowering type. The buds have a bicolored creamy-purple color, which, as they age, changes to a deep uniform crimson-red or dark red color. The flowering period lasts from August to December.
The variety is a winter-hardy, light-loving plant. It prefers acidic, well-drained soils with a pH level of about 4.5. It is used in ornamental gardening for decorating flower beds, borders, and container cultivation.
