Variety description

The plant reaches a height of 30–60 cm and possesses blue-green foliage, which dies back during the summer dormant period. Flowering occurs in May–June. The variety is classified as Calochortus luteus «Golden Orb» and belongs to the Liliaceae family.
Cultivation requires sandy or sandy loam soils with good drainage, as well as placement in full sun or partial shade. Once established, the plant shows drought tolerance, however, a critical condition is providing a dry period in summer.
