Variety description

The plant reaches a height and width of 2 to 4 meters, forming a dense rounded or broadly spreading crown. The leaves are large, oval or elliptical in shape, dark green with a glossy sheen; in spring they may acquire a bronze tint, and in autumn they turn golden-yellow.
The large flowers with a diameter of 7–10 cm resemble a magnolia in shape and possess an intense wine-red coloration with possible cream or yellowish edges on the petals. Flowering lasts from May to July, often with a secondary appearance of buds in late summer. The flower aroma includes notes of strawberry, melon, or pineapple.
The shrub belongs to USDA hardiness zone 5. Cultivation requires moderately moist, fertile, and well-drained soils. The plant is resistant to lodging, but due to the size of the foliage, it can react to the impact of strong wind.
