The variety has a dense, semi-erect habit with a very broad crown shape. The stems are purple, characterized by slight pubescence and ribbing in cross-section. The leaves are medium green, with pronounced rugosity and a serrated margin; the upper surface is devoid of pubescence. The rhizome possesses high growth vigor.
The flowers are tubular and nodding. The outer side of the corolla tube is dark purple-red with white stripes along the veins; the inner side is white, decorated with brown-purple spots. The variety was bred for decorative gardening and is distinguished by its compactness compared to the original wild species.
