Variety description

The plant forms dense clumps with large inflorescences 30–40 cm long. A feature of the variety is self-cleaning flowers that do not require deadheading. Lush green leaves give the variety a tropical look.

Flowering of the variety lasts from early summer to autumn. The plant is characterized by high resistance to heat and humidity and is often supplied as tissue culture material free of viral diseases.

The variety is used in landscape design for creating borders, mass plantings, and container plantings, and attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. In temperate climates, it is grown as an annual or requires rhizome excavation; in USDA zones 7–11, it is considered more hardy.
