The NuMex Conquistador variety is an open-pollinated New Mexican type of pepper. The fruits have a smooth surface, rounded shoulders, a pointed tip, thick walls and two locules.
This variety is mild and is used as a universal raw material for paprika production due to its high content of coloring pigments. The plant is able to tolerate water deficit, and the fruits are suitable for harvesting at both technical and biological maturity.
