The variety is a mid-early plant 60–80 cm in height with good foliagecover. Fruits are square or nearly heart-shaped, weighing on average 130–190 g, reaching 250 g under favorable conditions. The flesh is dense, up to 9–10 mm thick, and has a sweet taste.
During the ripening process, the color changes from green to bright golden-yellow. The plant is characterized as hardy, suitable for cultivation in open field, greenhouses, and pots. Both heirloom varieties and F1 hybrids may be sold under this common name, the latter of which may possess resistance to tobacco mosaic virus.
