The plant of the species Capsicum baccatum is characterized by a tall growth of up to 130–150 cm, developed branching, and requires support due to the risk of lodging of the shoots. The fruits turn red when ripe, have characteristic protrusions, and are associated in shape with a bell or a mitre.
The variety is late-maturing with a development cycle of about 100 days, for which early sowing of seeds is recommended. The fruit flesh has a sweet taste and moderate pungency in the range of 5 000–30 000 SHU. The produce has universal use, including fresh consumption, drying, and processing.
