Variety description

The variety was obtained by crossing form «550-40» and the «Tanzawa» variety. The main purpose is the production of fruit for human consumption, which possesses a property unique to Japanese chestnuts: easy peeling after roasting or boiling. This characteristic is controlled by a recessive gene.
The plant is resistant to ink disease caused by Phytophthora cinnamomi and to chestnut blight. The variety is high-yielding and adapted to the climatic conditions of Japan.
