The Refour variety is a commercial cultivar with photoperiod-controlled flowering. The plant forms semi-double white flowers and is widely used in commercial floriculture.

In scientific research, the variety often appears as a standard sample when studying plant physiology, including the response to nitrogen oxide exposure and cutting storage. The variety possesses incomplete resistance to the pathogen Puccinia horiana, which causes white rust of chrysanthemum.
