The Cortez group varieties and their derivatives, such as Cortez Pink and Cortez Dark Red, are used as professional material in floriculture. In breeding practice, these plants are used as reference samples for the comparative description of new chrysanthemum varieties.

The development of new variations within the series was carried out using the mutation breeding method, including X-ray irradiation of cuttings. Plant characteristics, such as habit, leaf development, and coloration, are evaluated within the framework of variety trials for the protection of intellectual property rights.
