The variety was bred by exposing cuttings of the parent plant Barbara to X-rays. As a result of selection, specimens with altered morphological characteristics were selected and propagated.

The plant belongs to the category of ornamental garden chrysanthemums. The main differences from the original variety consist in the color palette of the petals, characterized as grayish-red, and in the structure of the central part of the inflorescence.
