The variety «Golden Geos» is a mutant of the original variety «Geos». Its emergence was the result of targeted X-ray exposure of the parent plant's shoots.

The primary distinction of the variety is a change in inflorescence pigmentation: the plant's petals are yellow, whereas in the original form «Geos» they are cream-white.
