The Mundial variety is used as a cut flower crop. In agronomic research, this chrysanthemum variety is used as a model organism for studying plant responses to temperature and day length, as well as a component in crossing for developing new hybrids.

The scientific literature notes the existence of a Mundial Improved form, which possesses increased drought tolerance.
