The variety was developed by irradiating cuttings of the variety Mario with X-rays at a dose of 1.8 kR. The main morphological difference between the mutant and the parent variety is the change in flower color to orange.

The object was created as part of research work on mutation breeding. Information regarding its widespread use as a modern commercial variety in current catalogs is absent.
