The variety is classified as garden chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum × morifolium), and is also found in literature under the synonym Dendranthema × grandiflorum. The variety is a historically significant object that was widely used in experiments on developing somatic embryogenesis methods and the introduction of foreign genes using Agrobacterium.
