The variety Yellow Fuji Mefo is actively used in scientific research to study the influence of mineral nutrition, specifically nitrogen and sulfur, on plant development. It has been noted that sulfur deficiency causes yellowing of young leaves, delays in inflorescence initiation, and a deterioration in their overall condition.

In experimental work, the variety is also used to study methods for controlling shoot height and fresh mass through mechanical impacts, such as vibration or shaking. Specific agronomic characteristics of the variety, such as maturity group or disease resistance, are not available in open publications.
