This name is reserved for a specific plant variety selected for the standardization of its biologically active substance composition. In EU regulatory documents, this variety is the only one authorized for sale as tea in the novel food category.
The plant is a light-loving and heat-loving shrub growing in the Mediterranean region. Agronomic indicators, such as bush morphology or resistance to external factors, are not described in publications.
