Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum. & Nakai Watermelon · Vegetables · bred by GOLDEN WEST SEED RESEARCH Co.

also searched as: амарилло

Variety description

10 August 2026

The hybrid is seedless; use of pollinator varieties is required for crop formation. Fruit ripening period is from 75 to 82 days from the moment of transplanting. The flesh is characterized by a bright yellow color, sweet taste, and crispy texture.

The name Amarillo is often used in breeding to designate a group of yellow-fleshed watermelons. There is also a hybrid Amarelo F1, which is distinguished by orange flesh, a weight of 7–8 kg, a shorter ripening period of 60–65 days, and resistance to anthracnose and powdery mildew.
