Primor is used as a rootstock for watermelon. During agronomic studies, this hybrid was considered as an alternative to traditional cucurbit rootstocks to improve the parameters of commercial varieties when grown under film covers.

Specialized descriptions of morphological traits or maturity period for this hybrid are absent, as it is intended exclusively for the formation of the scion's root system. Comparative trials show that the use of this rootstock can influence the sugar content, pH level, and flesh firmness of watermelon fruits.
